Roderick James has been a practicing architect for over 30 years and was the first director of the Centre for Alternative Technology in Machynlleth, Wales from its inception in 1973 and he has actively pursued an interest in sustainable building since. He has successfully completed many selfbuild projects himself. He was the founder / chairman of Carpenter Oak Ltd.
